One of those "Who? What? Where? When? And why?" times

There are many questions that run through my head when watching this video, but at the same time I'm completely fascinated!  I want to know where one acquires 10,000 iPhone 5's, why they chose the newest iPhone model (why not the older one??), Why they spent so much of their time setting this up, What are they trying to accomplish?  Finally at the end of the video I just realized what they have done, they have completely fascinated me and then right at the end of the video flash their company name and logo.  Well now I just want to know who this company is and what they do, because they have managed to amaze me.  In my opinion these people are amazing, and they managed to slip an advertisement past me with out me knowing what was even going on.

Prank Compilation For April Fools

This guy who goes by Ross Creations on YouTube is a little bit weird, but some of his pranks are hilarious.  His helium prank is really funny too, where he ingests helium and freaks people out on the beach.

Would anyone else do pranks like this in public?  I think it definitely would take a brave person...

Light Painting Photography (Random Post)

I recently discovered a new type of photography called light painting, which is taking photographs at a long exposure of a source of light moving throughout the shot (creating designs and lines).  There are many different sources of light to use in these photographs, such as glow sticks, flashlights, LED lights, fire, and anything that is a light source.  Of course, with my crazy tendencies coupled along with my pyrotechnic fascinations, I chose the fire technique to accomplish this style of photographs.  After some research, I found a technique that produced some amazing results, where you take steel wool (usually used for sanding surfaces), light it on fire with a blowtorch, and spin it.  Once you start spinning the steel wool it increases the amount of oxygen and causes it to throw sparks everywhere.  Of course there are much more technical details that go along with this, that would just take way to much space to fully describe, but if you would like to read further about this technique of light painting you can watch this video:
Before I went out to take the pictures I had to figure out a good location, with light painting photography you need a dark place that still has a good background.  I ended up underneath the overpass of a freeway with two friends who I somehow convinced to spin fire.  I had my camera set up at a high aperture setting (f22), with ISO set around 200, and my exposure set at 30 seconds.
This is the first shot I took, after testing how the steel wool would react with fire and actually starting a large pile of trash on fire. I was really pleased with my first shot but wanted to continue to experiment with this awesome idea, cautiously of course.  Below are a couple more of the shots I got.

If you plan on trying this technique of light painting I highly recommend being extremely cautious and even adding a fire extinguisher to your list of supplies!  Essentially it is bits of metal that are red hot flying all over the place, and they do take awhile to fully cool down or burn.  Always use extreme caution when playing with fire!

YouTube Epidemic

Not sure if you have noticed, but there is an epidemic sweeping across YouTube.  This epidemic is known as The Harlem Shake, and it seems like everyone is taking part in it.  Currently the University of Houston has two great Harlem Shake videos, one of which has not been released yet and the other one done by the College of Architecture.

University of Architecture Harlem Shake
The ORIGINAL Harlem Shake (what started it all!)
Underwater Harlem Shake
Firefighter Harlem Shake
SeaWorld Harlem Shake
One of My Favorite Harlem Shakes

PS Don't be intimidated by the amount of videos, Their all only 30 seconds so they go by quick.  A group of friends and I made a Harlem Shake video last weekend, but it has yet to be edited and put up on YouTube.  We made the video after a party at a friends house so it's pretty ridiculous, but it sure was a lot of fun... I encourage you to go out and contribute to this contagious YouTube epidemic.

Dubstepping Birds and a Notorious loving Baby

This parrot loves Dubstep, watch it get down with the beat.  No one I know has ever seen a bird do anything like this, something is seriously wrong with it... but it definitely dances better than me.

While I'm on this bird Dubstep kick, I decided that I might as well include this one.  Apparently the owner didn't teach his bird to do this and has never played Dubstep in the house, he says that the bird just picked it up from him beat boxing around the house.

Heres a baby that is a die hard Notorious B.I.G. fan, if she doesn't hear her favorite Biggie song she gets really upset.  Besides I really needed to get off that bird Dupstep binge.
